A one-sided relationship is unhealthy and pointless and there are definite signs that can help you to determine if your relationship is one-sided. They always lead to unhappiness and misery. If you discover that you are in a one-sided relationship, walk away and try to salvage whatever you can of your dignity and self-respect. Being in a one-sided relationship can leave you feeling empty and unfulfilled because your needs aren’t being met and you are doing all or most of the giving. Evaluate your feelings and the state of your relationship to see if you recognize any of the signs of a one-sided relationship.
You Initiate Communication
You initiate most, if not all contact. If you don’t reach out, you don’t hear from them. And often when you initiate contact, they typically respond with no sense of urgency. If you’re leaving multiple voicemails and calling repeatedly (within reason) because your calls aren’t returned. You aren’t a priority. If text messages go unanswered for days because they just don’t have time to respond. You’re probably in a one-sided relationship.
Dates Are Rare
Couples often fall into a comfortable routine and spend most nights in lounging at home, playing games, or watching t.v. Even so, they still make time to dress up and hit the town on the weekends, enjoying each other’s company and socializing with friends. In a one-sided relationship, you are the one that is always begging to go out and always has to initiate the dates. And, you’re never invited to do fun things, when your partner goes off with their friends.
They Prefer To Hang With Friends
When your significant other does feel like going out, you aren’t invited. Even when yuh try nuff up yuhself, they rather war and go alone than have you come along. You ask to spend time with them, but your offers are usually rejected. They prefer calling up their friends and hanging out with them, leaving you bored and lonely at home. If they aren’t bothered that you feel left out of their social circle, you’re probably in a one-sided relationship.
Short Conversations
Whenever you want to talk to them, the conversations are always short and tend to end abruptly. You are the one that comes up with open-ended questions to try to keep the conversation going. They always seem to have minimal interest in the topic you are conversing about regardless of what it is. Their answers are typically short and often one-worded. if they can’t or won’t make time to have a decent robust conversation with you, you’re probably in a one-sided relationship.
Always Missing
Have you ever had a problem, or you just generally needed to feel their presence and they were hard to reach, or they found it hard to reach out to you?  Text messages or calls that are about the problem you were facing went unanswered or they responded after significant delays? You won’t hear from them until you have found a solution to your problem. A person that isn’t invested in a relationship doesn’t care if you are dealing with issues.
They Don’t Care About You
If you’ve ever had the feeling that they don’t care about you because they don’t show any interest in your daily life. They probably don’t. A caring partner always wants to know that you are ok, and they always want to be a part of, or at least be aware of the happenings in your life. Say you were in a bus that capsized over Flat Bridge. Before you even got out of the water you sent a frantic text “Babes, the bus tun ova inna flat bridge”…. you wait, no response. You call repeatedly and leave panicked messages. No response. When you finally get in contact with them and you express your concern about how long it took for you to reach them, they say “is not like yuh dead or nuttn, a just couple likkle bruck up yuh get; weh yuh a create excitement fah”.  You are in a one sided relationship.
Relationship Problems
Whenever you try to address issues or concerns about the relationship, they make it clear that you’re being an annoyance. If they have no interest in working out any problems, you are the one that has to figure out how to resolve problems because they won’t put in the effort. You are definitely in a one-sided relationship.
