Pioneer of that famous minimalist wave, which is today widely copied and re-interpreted, Vladimir Kagan is now again in vogue. His work, which was almost unnoticed for some decades, was never out-of-vogue. He was able to create new shapes, organic and sculptural, he broke all fixed codes, he radicalized the silhouettes of chairs, tables and sofas without overloading them. He upholstered the pieces with masculine fabrics. He gave particular attention to materials and touch, awarding also a touch of sensuality to the very radical design of the fifties.
